I decided that I couldn't spend two weekends in a row here in L.A. Two weeks ago I was in Mexico. Yesterday, I purchased myself a ticket to Boston for Memorial Day Weekend. I'll be at Fenway Park on Saturday afternoon watching the Red Sox, so turn on the FOX Game of the Week and see if you can me in the grandstands. Then I'll be heading up to Maine to eat some lobsters. Mmmm.

And two weeks later I'll be taking a trip to Montreal to watch the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Canada!

I'm a travelin' man...

I had one goal for today and that was to get some ice cream from Cold Stone's. My goal was achieved. I got a pint of French Vanilla ice cream with Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups mixed in. And I did eat it all. Mmmm.

The Suicide Girls Live Burlesque Show performed a sold out show at the Knitting Factory in Hollywood tonight. When I got there, the opening act, The Ladykillers, were going on stage. They were a mediocre punk band who seemed to think they were a rockabilly band. It was then that a bunch of drunk guys started moshing. And then the fat guys joined them. And all of a sudden, I got a couple of bruises and some sort of rum drink spilled on my back. Not what I was expecting at a burlesque show.

Finally the Suicide Girls came out and did their show to some great music played by DJ David J (of Bauhaus and Love & Rockets). Seven of the 300+ punk rock and goth pin-up girls from SuicideGirls.com performed. They put on a really great show depsite several wardrobe malfunctions (the tape covering their nipples kept accidently falling off). At the end, all seven came out and squirted each other and the crowd with bottles of Hershey's chocolate syrup. I got it right in the face. My eyes to be exact. What a mess.

I put on The Streets new album, A Grand Don't Come For Free, today. I've been waiting for this album for what seems like a reallly long time. At first I was disappointed with it. The songs weren't like the catchy singles on their first album, Original Pirate Material. They were kinda slow almost like he was telling a story instead of singing. But then I realized... he IS telling a story. The whole album is a narrative with each song telling part of the story. It's a concept album. Pretty ambitious of Mikey, considering this is only his second album, but it's quite brilliant. I do miss the singles though. Hopefully the next album (or at least an EP), will come soon. If you don't know this band, they play British Garage House music. A lot of people call Mike Skinner the British Eminem. Not quite the same kind of music, but he is a white guy that does some pretty original rapping. Sound interesting? Get Original Pirate Material if you don't have it. It's one of my favorite albums of the last few years.

Finally, we have some pictures from Rosarito and Puerto Nuevo.

Tonight, I went to a screening of Shrek 2. On the way into the theatre, we were told that camera phones would not be allowed inside. How stupid is that? They never searched us or anything, but that's just dumb. Anyways, the movie is really funny. Just as good, maybe better, than the first one.

The new Streets album came out today. I just picked it up as Tower Records was closing. I can't wait to listen. This guy is amazing.

Jamie Morris : null :

Unfortunately, I'm back from Mexico. It was a short but very nice vacation. I stayed at a beautiful house (#43) in the private community of Las Gaviotas with Erin, Eddie, Erica, and Fred. We had a great time eating langosta and drinking cerveza. The lobster there is a bit weird... no claws, but it still tastes like lobster. Mmmm.

I'm leaving work early today to go to Rosarito, Mexico for the weekend. It should be nice and warm on the beach. I'll tell you how the lobsters and margaritas were when I get back Sunday. Mmmm.

Tonight I went to :WUMPSKATE: - a gothic/industrial rollerskating/blading night at The World On Wheels skating rink. It was great. There was a big crowd and everyone was dressed up in their cool goth outfits skating to DJs playing really good music.

I went to see Super Size Me tonight. Filmaker Morgan Spurlock made this movie to find out why Americans are the fattest people in the world. He determines it's the fast food industry and goes on a one month binge of eating nothing but McDonalds to determine its adverse affects. The results surprised him and all his doctors.
