Jamie Morris : null : NASCAR race in Fontana
NASCAR race in Fontana

My long weekend is over. I did lots of fun stuff with my parents. We went to Mulholland Drive, Universal Studios, The Block at Orange, the Angels/Red Sox game (J.Lo & Ben weren't there that night), and the NASCAR race in Fontana. They're gone now and I'm really sleepy. Good night!

It was a pretty bizarre day for LA sports teams today. The Lakers and the Dodgers both lost in overtime. And I just watched the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim win their playoff game in the 8th period! The Ducks scored a goal in the 3rd overtime period, but they refs overturned it and called it a no goal. It wasn't until the 5th overtime period that the Ducks finally scored the winning goal in the fourth-longest game in NHL history. This weekend I'm going to see the Red Sox play the Angels in Anaheim on Saturday and I'm going to the NASCAR race at California Speedway on Sunday.

Work was really frustrating today, but my friend Piggles came to visit and we went out to lunch. That was fun. I just finished watching Dawson's Creek. There's only two more episodes left, and I think they said someone was going to DIE!!! Now, I must work on my Photoshop homework. I usually procrastinate and do it on the weekend, but my parents are coming into town on Friday and I'm not going to have any time to do it. I really don't feel like working on a computer when I get home from work.

It's starting to feel a little like summer. Yesterday, I spent the day with Lauren. We walked to Venice Beach and back. I got a little sunburn. Later, we went to see Raising Victor Vargas and then went to Father's Office to get burgers and sweet potato fries. They're supposed to have the best burger in LA. I think it's the best one that I've had since I've been here. Mmm... Today, I was tired and spent most of the day inside watching TV and taking naps. Yawn. Back to work tomorrow.

Woohoo! They let us out of work early today. I used my time wisely and went to see A Mighty Wind. It's pretty funny. You should go see it if you're a music fan.

There's another new edition to my website this week. A poll! Try it out. It's fun!

Happy Tax Day! Today I added search to my site. It's powered by Google's Free Search service. It's really fun. I can use it to search for stuff in my blog. Photoshop class was boring this week. All we learned was Adjustment Layers.

I'm feeling kinda bored today. It's not that I don't have anything to do, it's just that everything I've done today is boring compared to last week. I saw a really good movie this weekend called Better Luck Tomorrow. Unfortunately, I paid almost $10 to see it and didn't realize it was a Paramount movie and I could have seen it for free if I had waited a couple weeks. Oh well, it was worth it. I wanted to see the new Rob Zombie movie, but it's getting really bad reviews. In jamiemorris.com news, my site finally comes up as the #1 result in almost every search engine when you search for "jamie morris". Photoshop class #3 is tomorrow. My homework for this week is so hideous I can't even post it on my site.

THURSDAY, APRIL 10, 2003

I am very tired today. I worked all day and all night yesterday (20 hours straight!). I've done way too much work this week and not much else. I did get to go to my Photoshop class on Tuesday. I still like it, but it isn't easy. I need to read the book I just bought. The highlight of my day today was going to "faintcy" Beverly Hills and having lunch with my pal Isabel at The Cheesecake Factory. Mmm... but I didn't save any room for cheesecake.

I think I'm deaf. I went to see Flogging Molly & The Supersuckers last night at The El Rey and I forgot my earplugs. Oh well, it was worth it.

Daylight Savings Time has begun! I made some changes to my site today to make it a little easier to read, and so I could put some more stuff on my homepage. I like it a lot more now.

They just opened a new French crepe restaurant in Santa Monica, so I tried it out this morning. Mmm... crepes. They were good. Now I don't have to go all the way to San Francisco to get them. I also went to another animated movie today. I finally saw Spirited Away. I've been wanting to see it for months. It's really good, and has lots of neat characters. Now I see why it won the Oscar for Best Animated Film.

Jamie Morris : null : My Photoshop Homework
My Photoshop Homework

Today was a pretty lazy day. I didn't feel like doing much. I did get my Photoshop homework done. Check it out: it's some Pokemon guy. He was just a black outline on a white background, and I had to create lots of layers and color it. After watching some TV and taking a nap, I decided to go to a movie. I went to see Cowboy Bebop: The Movie. Cowboy Bebop is a Japanese animated television series about bounty hunters in the year 2071. It's a good movie with a good complex story, but a little long for my taste (2 hours). If you like anime, go see this movie or check out the TV series on the Cartoon Network.

Jamie Morris : null : Too Tight Dwight
Too Tight Dwight

I'm really tired this morning. I was out late last night seeing Dwight Yoakam play at the Henry Fonda Theatre. It was a special "Almost Alone" acoustic performance with just Dwight and one other guy (Keith somebody). There couldn't have been more than 200 people there, and I had a second-row center seat. It was a great show. After two opening acts not worth mentioning (why do they do this to us?), Too-Tight Dwight played a 90 minute set consisting of about a dozen of his greatest hits and a dozen cover songs followed by a 20 minute encore. My favorite part was the THREE Johnny Horton covers: "North To Alaska," "Honkey Tonk Man" and "When It's Springtime In Alaska". I can't wait to see him with his full band in July.

Tonight, I started my Photoshop class at UCLA Extension. I think it's going to be fun. I like school. But I missed American Idol. I'll have to start taping it.

A couple weeks ago, my friend Craig, who I hadn't talked to in about ten years found my website and emailed me. This inspired me to start looking for people who I haven't heard from in awhile. Already, I've found my long lost friends Sarah and Jessica!

I'm not gonna play any jokes on you today, except for those of you who got the fake CNN link about France declaring war on the US that I sent. So check out the Top 100 April Fool's Day Hoaxes.
