Jamie Morris : null : Jamie & Lauren in Maui
Jamie & Lauren in Maui

I'm starting to get ready for Hawaii. I'm leaving for Maui on Thursday morning!!! Today I bought a snorkel set because I'll be doing a lot of snorkeling there and I don't want to rent the gear. The other day I got a dollar bill with a Where's George stamp on it, so I registered it with wheresgeorge.com. I'm going to take it to Hawaii with me and spend it there. You'll be able to see where it goes by checking this page.

This week was a pretty good one. Work wasn't that bad and I had some fun too. I went to see one of my favorite bands, Saint Etienne, at the Palace on Monday. They were great. I finally saw 8 Mile on Wednesday with Lauren, who's now in Hawaii, but I'll be there soon. On Thursday I went to the Velvet Hammer Burlesque at the Mayan with Mark and had a lot of fun. I think I'd go again when they do another show. And tonight I went shopping at Lucky and bought two new shirts.

I didn't do too much this weekend. I went shopping on the promenade, but I didn't buy very much... just a sweater and some travel books. Today was the last Nascar race of the season, so now I need to find something to do on Sundays. I also went to see the new Harry Potter movie today. I think it's better than the first one, but it's kinda scary... it's got snakes and spiders and stuff. I still need to see 8 Mile... hopefully this week.

Isn't today supposed to be a holiday? Why did I have to go to work? I just found out that my website has been down all weekend. I guess the video card burned out. I don't know why that made my whole computer die though. Anyways, I got my site back up and Dell is sending me a new card tomorrow. The last few days have been pretty good. On Thursday, I went back to the Staples Center for the second time this week. This time to see tennis. It was the Home Depot Championships. I got to see Serena Williams and Jennifer Capriati play. On Friday, I packed my bags and went to Phoenix for the weekend to meet my parents. On Saturday, we went to Cracker Barrel (my favorite place to eat breakfast) and then did The Apache Trail. The Apache Trail is a partially gravel road that winds around the Superstition Mountains. It offers some of the most scenic desert driving in Arizona. Along the way we stopped at a ghost town and toured a mine, went to Tortilla Flat and has some prickly-pear ice cream, visited the Theodore Roosevelt Dam, and climbed up a mountain to see some ancient indian ruins. After that we went to Joe's Crab Shack for dinner. Mmmm.... BBQ crabs! Sunday, we got up early and went to the NASCAR race at Phoenix International Raceway. It was a good race but I got a little sunburned. Then we spent four hours trying to get out of the parking lot, and then another four hours at the airport. Southwest is really cheap, but I always get delayed.

Happy Halloween week!!!! I didn't do anything too scary this week. On Halloween night, I went to Hal Wilner's Halloween Show at UCLA. It was cool, but it went on way too long. It was basically a bunch of people reading Edgar Allen Poe short stories over music. The cast included Lou Reed, Will Ferrell, Harry Shearer, and Karen Black. On Friday, I went to the LA Freewaves Festival opening in Chinatown. It wasn't that exciting but I got some good food and BOBA! Saturday, I went to a b-day party and Sunday I went hiking. Sunday night I went to see the The Ring. It's really scary... go see it. And tonight, I went over to the Staples Center and watched the LA Kings lose to the Minnesota Wild, a team I've never even heard of.
