I have a stye on my eyelid today. It hurts. This morning Lauren and I walked to Venice and had brunch at C & O Trattoria. It was very good. I had the Trattoria Benedicto. Mmmm. Then we walked back to Santa Monica and saw Barbershop. I thought it was very funny, but some people don't like the jokes. Tonight we went to the King's Head and had dinner and played some darts. I wasn't feeling that well after dinner, so I was only able to drink one Boddingtons. I still need to try a Stella now that they have it on tap. Maybe next weekend.

This has felt like a really long week. Probably because I had to work last weekend. This week has been pretty calm at work. Except for today when my computer died, but I got it working again. I saw a bunch of movies this week. On Wednesday, there was a screening of The Kid Stays In The Picture at work and Robert Evans was there. He introduced the film and then answered questions, signed autographs and gave us posters and bumper stickers after. It was a great movie. And it was really cool seeing it at Paramount, where it all happened. On Thursday, I went to see the German movie Das Experiment. Very good... go see it. And on Friday I saw The Four Feathers.

I've been really busy at work this week. Sunday, ETOnline is doing a live broadcast from the Emmy Awards, so I had to work on that and I get to work this weekend. Also, there's a big contest I had to build on StarTrek.com where you can win a trip to the Nemesis premiere in Los Angeles. I wasn't sure that it wasn't going to work because we were expecting a lot of people. But, it worked, and at one point we were getting 600 entries per minute! Today was Piggles' last day at work. We're all gonna miss her. She's getting married and moving on to bigger and better things. So we took her to Lucy's for lunch... two days in a row.

I didn't do too much today. I spent most of the day lying in bed recovering from yesterday. I was supposed to go to Doheny Days with Erin, but she flaked on me as usual. I did make it outside to go to the movies. I saw Igby Goes Down which was really, really good. Tonight I watch the season premiere of The Sopranos. It wasn't that great, but they did play a John Lydon song during the show which was pretty cool. Yesterday, at the Sex Pistols show, he mentioned something about an upcoming show with P.I.L., but he may have been joking.

Today was the KROQ/Levi's Inland Invasion. "The biggest gathering of punks in the world ever," according to Greg Graffin. It was more like a 25th Anniversary of Punk concert. Over 52,000 people, 17 bands, 13 hours, 2 stages. We got there a little late because Jim's car overheated before we left and we had to trade cars. TSOL, The Adolescents, and The Distillers had already played. The Circle Jerks were playing on the lawn stage as we were waiting to get into the Blockbuster Pavilion around 1pm. I was a little disappointed because they were one of the bands I really wanted to see, but they sounded good from a distance. It was hot when we got there, but we poured water over ourselves before we went in because they wouldn't let us bring our water bottles into the venue. We walked around for a little while to check the place out as GBH was playing. We made our way over to the lawn stage around the time The Vandals were going on. We couldn't get anywhere near the stage. The whole field was one big dusty mosh pit. The Vandals sounded good, but we wanted to head over to the main stage where our seats were for the other bands. They started the bands on the main stage a little early so we missed Unwritten Law. Our seats were amazing. We were only about 20 rows back and we were in the shade for most of the day. Internet Pre-sale's rule! It was organized very well. Each band on the main stage played for around 45 minutes. The best part was that they had a rotating stage, so while one band was playing, the next band was setting up backstage. There was no waiting between bands. When one band finished, the stage rotated and the next band came out. The Damned came out next. I love The Damned. They played a mix of old and new songs, but they didn't sound that great outside. They're much better in a small club. Next, came X, who I think was the hilight of the day for me. I'd never seen them before and they were amazing. After them was New Found Glory, who everyone booed because they really didn't belong on the stage with all these veteran punk bands. The Buzzcocks put on an amazing set, but the crowd still wasn't really into the show yet. Most people were sitting down. Pennywise changed all that. They really got the crowd on their feet. I was a little annoyed at first because they were trying to get the lawn people to charge past security to get closer to the stage where we were sitting, but security did a good job keeping people where they were supposed to be. I'm not a big Pennywise fan, but they played a bunch of covers: Black Flag, Germs, Dead Kennedys, Minor Threat, and the Ramones. They even got Fat Mike from NOFX to come out and sing with them. Next was Blink 182. They were just goofing off and sounded terrible. Most of the guys in the audience sat down when they came onstage, and after they played a few songs, the girls started sitting down too. It was about that time that I noticed a big bonfire on the lawn. By the time the Bad Religion came on there were about 7 bonfires going and people moshing around them. Bad Religion put on a good show, but I've seen them before. The biggest excitement during their set was the fight that broke out between the guy standing next to me and the guy behind him. Social Distortion came up next and played well, but again, I've seen them before several times. At that time I could see about a dozen fires. The Offspring came up next, but I don't really care for them. They weren't bad. The singer had a "EVEN JESUS HATES CREED" T-shirt which was pretty funny. And finally the time had come for the Sex Pistols! They were amazing. They sounded great, Johnny Rotten was really funny, and they played for over an hour. They played lots of songs, and Johnny interacted with the crowd a lot. At one point he had ripped his shirt so he had to ask if anyone in the crowd had a safety pin he could borrow... heh.

Tonight I went to a screening of Full Frontal at work. It was so bad, I left after about 20 minutes... most people did actually. Don't go see it, don't rent it, don't pay per view it, don't even waste your time watching it on cable. Just do something else. Later, I went over to Club Vodka at the Key Club . I saw Straight Jacket, Bomber, and Gilby Clarke perform. And they also had a wet t-shirt contest. The show rocked. I was a little annoyed at first because I was supposed to be on the guest list and they wouldn't let me in. They gave me a discount pass and said I could get in for only ten bucks. I took my pass, walked passed the box office and bouncers, opened the door, and walked in without paying. Haha. Guest lists are so annoying.

It's September 11th and everyone seems to be celebrating. There are anniversary events, tv specials, and George W. even declared it Patriot's Day. I guess noone told him there's already a Patriot's Day in April. I don't get it. Anyways, I celebrated this "Patriot's Day" at the King's Head Restuarant with my friend Shelia and not by watching stupid television shows showing planes flying into buildings. We talked about taking some classes at UCLA Extension this quarter. I haven't taken any classes in about a year and I'd like to get back into it, but there are no technical classes that I'm interested in offered on weeknights. Only weekends... yuck. I'd like to take a foreign language class, maybe Italian, but I'd have to pay for it myself since it's not related to my job. Hmmm... What should I do?

This weekend was another lazy weekend. On Friday night, I went bowling at Sports Center Bowl. It was a lot of fun... I bowled 180 on the first game! (That's really, really good.) But, there was a spilled drink on floor and Lauren slipped on it and hurt her knee so we went home. Hopefully, she'll be okay. We stayed in the rest of the weekend and watched the US Open. It's the most tennis I've ever watched in my life, but I think I'm starting to like it.

Today was the American Idol finale but I didn't watch it because it was just too obvious who was going to win. I tried to call in and vote for Kelly yesterday, but the phones were always busy. Instead, I went to see Sunshine State which was just too long of a movie with not much happening. Things got a little better when I saw Elvis in Thai Town. I think he was there with Erin's Mom.

Wow, It's been a long time since I've updated this. I have an excuse though... I haven't been home much lately. So, here's a quick update of the past week. On Thursday, I watched the MTV Video Music Awards. It was a pretty interesting show as usual... Eminem picked a fight with Moby, Michael Jackson accepted an award that wasn't given to him, and Guns 'N' Roses closed out the show with a live performance. On Friday, I got out of work early and Lauren and I made a road trip up to San Francisco to visit Nick & Allison. We spent the whole weekend there and did a whole lot of nothing. We did go to the SF MOMA to see the Yoko Ono exhibit which included a video of talking bottoms! Then we had a long drive back to LA. It ended up taking over eight hours because we had to go around the fires.
