Oh my head... why did I go to the pub on a Monday night. I did win two games of pool. Woohoo! I should go to sleep...

I ended up going to the Sunset Junction Street Fair on Saturday and Sunday nights. I saw some cool bands. On Saturday, Mudhoney kinda sucked, but Sonic Youth was great. They played a bunch of cool songs like "Eric's Trip," "100%," and "Kool Thing." Unfortunately they went on late and their set got cut short because of the curfew. On Sunday, I saw Sleater-Kinney. They rocked as usual, but they played almost all new songs and I only recognized two of their songs. The best band I saw was Keith Morris's Gun Club Tribute. They were great. If you don't know who Keith Morris is, he was the original lead singer of Black Flag and the Circle Jerks. I also had lots of yummy food like fried plantains, strawberry lemonade, sweet corn patties with cheese, and thai iced tea with boba...mmmm.

The end of the week is here and things are going a little better. Last night I went to chinatown with Erin and Ellie and got some good food: corn on the cob, a boba drink, and some chinese food... mmm. Today, we went to Larchmont and got some sushi. Tonight, Lauren and I went to a puppet show. It was very quite interesting. I think I'm gonna go to the Sunset Junction Street Fair this weekend and see some bands.

I haven't really written much this week, probably because it has just really sucked. I had to stay at work late tonight to put up the American Idol poll, so I missed a movie screening that I was supposed to go to. I watched American Idol for the first time last night. It's a pretty good show. I'm glad Tamyra got kicked off. I didn't think she was that good, but Justin really has to go. Kelly is the only one who can sing, but I like Nikki too. Unfortunately, all the little girls will probably all call in and vote to keep Justin, so he'll be around for awhile. I'll be tuned in next week.

I'm really getting annoyed with this motorcycle training center. They told me to come to class today and join one of the groups, so I got up really early and went all the way to North Hollywood only to find out that I was one of many people on stand-by and they didn't have room to fit any of us in. So, I wasted half my day and still didn't get to finish the class. I wouldn't recommend these guys to anyone.

So I went back home to Santa Monica, but it was really a crappy day out. It was cold and cloudy. So I went to see a couple movies. I saw Sex And Lucia this afternoon and then Signs tonight. They were both good movies, but Signs was really scary and now I'm scared that an alien is going to jump out of my closet and grab me. Maybe I should just go to bed. Maybe tomorrow will be a better day.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 16, 2002

Happy Friday everyone! Today was a good day since my boss let me stay home and work from here. I spent most of the day watching Elvis documentaries to celebrate Elvis week. He died 25 years ago today. This weekend I'm going to attempt to finish up my motorcycle training class in North Hollywood. I'm not looking forward to it because it's going to take up my whole weekend and I'm sure it's going to be really, really hot out. Tonight I'm going to see a showcase of L.A.'s best industrial bands at The Gig because my friend's band, MPDQ is playing.

There's not much going on this week. I just got a haircut tonight and I have barely any left. The Red Sox have been on ESPN this week, so that's cool. I don't get to see them much anymore. They lost yesterday, but it looks like they're going to actually win tonight. Also on TV this week was the second episode of The Anna Nicole Show. This week's episode was kinda boring. I can't wait for the second season of The Osbournes.

There were a couple of cool top ten lists in the news this week. First, the USA national soccer team made the top ten in the FIFA World Ranking. Also, Forbes released a list of the top ten dead celebrities. Elvis, the "undisputed king of the crypt", is ranked #1 with Dale Earnhardt entering the chart at #4.

This weekend was much, much better than last weekend. I spent most of it with my friend Lauren. On Saturday, we went to an art exhibition at the UCSB Art Museum called Out Of True which the curator described as "something akin to DJ-ing, where I could mix beats and layer disparate sounds into one reasoned and articulate sound track." Hahaha. Then we went over to the King's Head and played some darts, drank some beer and cider, and listened to Kylie. On Sunday, we went to see XXX (I mean xXx). It was a good movie... lots of fun. And then we went to the Hollywood Bowl to see a world reggae show featuring Burning Spear, Steel Pulse, and Lucky Dube. The Hollywood Bowl is a great venue. Even though we sat all the way in the back, it was still a lot of fun. I wanna see some more shows there.

Oh, and my friend Isabel seems to think I used to look like Shaggy. What do you think?

Last night was pretty cool. I went to see Dolly Parton at the House of Blues. She was very entertaining, and no, she didn't play "Stairway To Heaven." I don't have the energy to write a full review of the show, but if you want to hear all about it and see what songs she played, go to Niki's Dolly Page. Speaking of concerts, I just got tickets to see the coolest punk show ever. It's called the Inland Invasion. There's so many cool bands playing... Sex Pistols, Bad Religion, Buzzcocks, The Damned, Offspring, Pennywise, X, Social Distortion, Circle Jerks, GBH, Blink 182, and lots, lots more. It's going to be the best show ever.

Things are really busy at work these days. I've got lots to do. Flash is starting to get frustrating. It's really annoying when you create something that works on your computer, but only works once in a while when you put it on a website. In happier news, I just got a FATBURGER!

It doesn't feel like I had a weekend at all. I'm soooo tired. Last night I went Nick & Allison's wedding at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. After the reception, there was a party in someone's room. I ended up going to the party which ended up going really, really late. Finally it got to the point when it was pointless for me to go home, because by the time I got home, I would just have to head back to Hollywood to go to work. So I stayed up all night and then went to work. It was a looooong day.

I had no time to write anything yesterday because things were crazy at work. We launched a new ETOnline homepage and it still doesn't work right. I started my motorcycle class this weekend, but they kicked me out. Well, not really. Most of the people in my riding group were experienced riders and I couldn't learn everything as fast as them, so the instructor wanted me take the class again. It was pretty frustrating because the class is so fast paced. It'll be much better for me to take it again, because I'll get more practice, plus I have a wedding to go to tomorrow, and it would have been hard to make it there after class.

Happy August! Well, today was a busy day, but that's okay. It's nice to have things to do. After work I had to go buy some ugly leather gloves for my motorcycle class. It's really hard to find gloves in the summer around here. Then I went to the pier for a free Graham Parker concert. He put on a good show. About as good as the Elvis Costello show I went to at the Kodak Theatre a couple months ago that cost me $165!
